Court: Two Accused of forgery

A notary and another man have been charged with forging public documents.

Anthony Agius, 53, of Qormi and Generoso Sammut, 50, of Siggiewi, were charged with forging public documents before, on and after 23 August 2001.

Being a notary, Dr Agius was also accused of committing a crime he was duty-bound to prevent. In addition, Mr Sammut was charged with making malicious use of the forged document and defrauding Nicholas Anthony Borg and his heirs.

Inspector Edel Mary Camilleri prosecuted.

Dr Chris Cardona and Dr Manwel Mallia appeared for the accused.
