HSBC Takes fight against illiteracy to Gozo

The Peter Paul Grech Primary School in Kercem and the Laura Vicuna Primary School in Ghasri are the latest to receive books from the HSBC Cares For Children Fund (HCCF). The latest donations build on various initiatives undertaken nationally by HCCF to combat illiteracy. These include support for the Hilti Tezor and Nwar after-school programmes, the parent-to-parent courses and the distribution of books among various primary schools in Malta.

“HSBC Cares for Children Fund has been active on different fronts in Gozo. Not only has the fund made these book donations but we have also made a donation to the Lourdes Home to help the Sisters there with the running costs,” said HSBC Gozo area director Stephen Pandolfino.

“HSBC’s commitment to the Gozitan community,

particularly its children, has always been strong and in 2006 we are determined to develop this further,” he

continued.
