HSBC Life Assurance (Malta) Ltd is delighted to announce an increase in the annual bonus rate for all its “with-profits’ products with effect from 1 January.

The new rate is 4.5 per cent, an increase of 0.50 per cent from the bonus rate for 2005. HSBC believes that this new bonus rate is attractive, particularly when one considers that under current tax regulations this bonus is free of tax for the policyholder.

HSBC Life declares its bonus rate for 2006 early in the year, thus continuing its policy of openness and transparency with all its customers.

“This should provide our policyholders with clarity and certainty in their financial planning. I am pleased that we have been able to increase our bonus rate this year reflecting a particular strong investment performance in 2005 on the with-profits fund,” said Richard Reid, managing director at HSBC Life Insurance (Malta) Limited.
