A lawyer told a court that having photocopiers in working order would be far more useful than the new glass door of Court’s main entrance.
At a sitting, Dr Joseph Brincat was informed that changes were made to the charges against his client. When asked to be given a copy, the lawyer was told the photocopier in the magistrates’ chambers was out of order. The presiding magistrate said she could not send one of her bailiffs to make a copy during the sitting.
On hearing this, Dr Brincat asked to court to formally take note of his objection. “I would appreciate that the court has functioning machinery as this would be more essential that the glass door of the building’s main entrance,” he said.
The sitting was being held in front of Magistrate Miriam Hayman.
