After a period of time observing the behaviour of consumers and retailers, we have come to the conclusion that business is losing its genuine touch, Parliamentary Secretary for Self Employed and Small Businesses Edwin Vassallo (photo) said yesterday.
Speaking at a business breakfast to launch the campaign, Say Thank You – to who serves you and who gets served by you, Mr Vassallo said that it was important for etiquette and a recognition of services received and given to be acknowledged.
The Parliamentary Secretary stressed upon the need of reciprocal respect between buyer and seller and called for a revival of manners that seem to be sadly lacking nowadays.
The seminar which was held at the Institute for Tourism Studies at Pembroke was also addressed by Opposition spokesperson for the Self Employed, Joseph Sammut and by representatives from the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association, the Chamber for Small and Medium Enterprises and Council for Consumers.
The campaign, “Say Thank You” includes the launch of a poster which will be distributed throughout all the branches of the two main local banks, Maltapost branches, local council offices, supermarkets and other retail establishments in various localities.
