The Planning Appeals Board yesterday postponed a decision for a waste separation plant project at Wied Garnaw, Santa Lucija, until a site inspection takes place in the coming weeks.
The project has already been refused twice by MEPA both at DCC level and at board level.
However sources told The Malta Independent that the calling of a site inspection is standard procedure for the Appeals Board which is an independent body within MEPA.
Labour MP Karl Chircop and Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi, who are assisting efforts to save the valley, said that they have already collected over 10,000 signatures in a petition against the project.
