Tomorrow, four weeks before the start of the World Youth Day 2006 celebrations, the Official WYD 2006 Theme Song will be selected from eight final compositions in a contest at Bay Street at 7pm.
The official song will be recorded and used in media spots before and during the World Youth Day weekend itself.
Preparations are underway for World Youth Day 2006, this year to be celebrated over a whole weekend, between 7 and 9 April. The event will feature art exhibitions to sport tournaments, inspiring workshops and colourful stalls.
De La Salle College, seat of World Youth Day 2006, will be changed into a busy village bringing together a good number of youth organisations from all over the island.
On the 7th, a walk illuminated by glow-lights, will take the participants from Senglea Church to the College grounds, where the WYD torch will be lit until the closing activities, the following Sunday.
Notes for the Soul, a contemporary Christian music festival will be held on Saturday 8, featuring Malta’s top performers. The celebrations lead up to an open-air mass on Sunday evening.
