Synergene Biotechnology Group, Malta’s only accredited DNA laboratory, announced that two new agreements have been signed for the expansion of the company’s international network of agents through the formation of joint ventures in Germany and Sweden.

Synergene Deutschland is a joint venture between Synergene Malta and DNA Diagnosis, one of the leading DNA testing companies in Germany. DNA Diagnosis has been established for many years in the German market but also provides DNA testing to other countries including Austria, Russia and France.

Rainer Hug, director of DNA-Diagnosis, Germany commented: “We are thrilled to be amalgamating with the Synergene Group. The company’s prestigious ISO accreditation and its scientific capabilities are a great asset to Synergene Deutschland.”

Synergene Sweden is a new venture established in collaboration with a Swedish company operating in the field of healthcare with a distribution network all over Scandinavia. The company is developing a home testing business and Synergene has agreed to provide it with its entire DNA testing requirements. Marcus Lindstrom, Managing Director of Safetest commented, “DNA Identity testing is a growth market in many countries including Scandinavia, and we are glad to include Synergene’s testing in our portfolio of services.”

Andrew Alexander, sales and marketing manager for the Synergene group added, “The signing of these new agreements is in line with Synergene’s international expansion programme, including the promotion of the Synergene brand name throughout Europe. We are therefore happy to welcome these two new partners to the Synergene group and look forward to concluding more agreements in the coming months.”
