Malta Independent Tuesday, 21 March 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

GlobalCapital Health Insurance Agency Ltd, which is a member of GlobalCapital and the representative of BUPA Insurance Ltd, has renewed its agreement with St Philip’s Hospital. Patients insured with BUPA Malta, on a full refund in-patient scheme, in which every case will be assessed on its own merit, can now have all their medical bills settled directly between St Philip’s Hospital and BUPA Malta.

BUPA is the largest private medical insurer in Malta. St Philip’s is a private hospital with 70 beds for patients, and high standards of clinical care that have been endorsed by BUPA Malta.

Dr Frank Portelli, director and CEO of St Philip’s, said: “The service offered to our patients by BUPA Malta, through GlobalCapital Health Insurance Agency, has proved to be excellent and efficient. The direct settlement of medical bills with the hospital has been of immense reassurance to our patients. We are pleased that those who are insured with BUPA will continue to benefit in this way, because direct settlement gives patients and their families the peace of mind they need to concentrate on the recovery of health.”

Nicholas Portelli, CEO of GlobalCapital, explained that BUPA is a global health and care organisation with nearly eight million members and 192 offices the world over. “BUPA health insurance schemes allow people to have their minds at rest that, should they need a certain level of medical care, they will be able to afford it. When this is done by direct settlement, between the hospital and the insurance provider, it is even more reassuring. GlobalCapital, as the Malta representative of BUPA, is delighted to have renewed this agreement with one of the best private hospitals in Malta.”
