Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi visited the Institute of Tourism Studies stand while touring the vocational training exhibition held at the Trade Fair Grounds, held recently in Naxxar. The Malta Tourism Authority and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association participated as partners on the stand.
During this brief visit the Prime Minister saw food preparation and production students under the guidance of their lecturer, prepare a sugar sculpture. This sculpture was the centre of attraction for the big number of students and teachers that visited the ITS stand. A chocolate centre-piece, together with chocolate petit fours as well as traditional Maltese pastries such as figolli, kwarezimal, biskuttini tar-rahal, pastarjali, qubbajt and ottijiet, were also on display.
Throughout the duration of the vocational training exhibition, many students, teachers and families visited the stand. Great interest was shown in the range of full-time and part-time courses offered by ITS.
