With its elegant, athletic figure, the Astra TwinTop stands out clearly among the new generation of hard-top cabrios. Launched at this year’s Motor Fair by United Automobile Limited (UAL), agents for Opel in Malta, this particularly elegant four-seater is the coupé among cabrios.
“The profile of the new Opel Astra TwinTop offers clean and uncomplicated lines. Thanks to its innovative three-part roof design, the Astra TwinTop has a harmonious, flowing look. The long sloping windshield protects rear-seat passengers from drafts, and helps create the coupé silhouette that brings back memories of the classic Opel Calibra,” said UAL’s managing director, Edmund Gatt Baldacchino.
The new Astra TwinTop also offers the latest technology for driving dynamics and active safety. The IDS chassis (Interactive Driving System) endows the Astra TwinTop with good road-holding. Unique high-tech options such as the adaptive IDSPlus chassis with electronic Continuous Damping Control (CDC) set the new Astra TwinTop apart. Active driving safety systems such as ABS, ESPPlus and brake assist, all standard equipment, also help to avoid potential accidents. The Astra TwinTop body and underbody were specially reinforced for the particular demands of a cabriolet. To minimise the consequences of a roll-over, the Astra TwinTop features a highly stable windshield frame and active roll-over protection system as standard.
Standard equipment on the new Astra TwinTop includes air conditioning, CD-radio with six loudspeakers, power windows, , heated power exterior mirrors, radio remote control central locking, height and reach-adjustable leather steering wheel, height-adjustable “Easy Entry” seats, rear seats with armrest and load-through hatch, and fog lamps.
