Malta Independent Saturday, 22 April 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

The Institute of Directors Malta Branch (IoD) chairman James Satariano will once again join other top global business executives at the IoD Convention on 26 April at London’s Royal Albert Hall, for the UK’s leading business conference.

For the first time ever the IoD has invited all their European chairmen to sit in what is called the European Chairman’s Box. Mr Satariano will be joined by his guest Dr Michael Refalo, Malta’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, who will be promoting business opportunities to Malta at the event, as he did last year at Mr Satariano’s invitation.

The Maltese contingent led by Mr Satariano and James Arrigo will hear from some of the greatest leaders in business and be inspired by the strategies that have worked for them. Speakers include Steven A. Ballmer, chief executive of Microsoft Corp., Todd Stizer, chief executive officer of Cadbury Schwepps, Doughlas McCullum, managing director of eBay.co.uK. and Gianni Ciserano from Proctor and Gamble who this year completed the $57bn acquisition of Gillette.

Dr Refalo will be using this opportunity as IoD’s guest to network with the some of the key-influencers and business leaders in the UK and make new business contacts for Malta. Business leaders from a spectrum of industries and business sizes will be joining Dr Refalo at this important conference. Dr Refalo and Mr Satariano will be lobbying these leaders, drawing on their considerable expertise to address the high potential that Malta promises to global directors and their international business ventures.

Some of the issues to be raised at the convention include the rapid expansion of Eastern economies and how to ensure constant reinvention of processes, workforce, products and services to stay a step ahead of competitors.
