Go mobile has recently announced that it has been named the Official Communication Partner of the Powerboat P1 Grand Prix of Malta 2006. The company will be catering to all the event’s telecommunications needs, in particular, a go mobile International Media Centre, which will be based in the race village at Valletta Waterfront. To tie up with this event, go mobile will be organising an SMS competition for all its subscribers, in which participants will have an opportunity to win exclusive VIP passes for this event, allowing them to experience one of the world’s most glamorous motor sports up close.
The Powerboat P1 World Championship Grand Prix is the only international motor sports event to be held on the Maltese islands. It can claim a growing popularity with both locals and foreigners alike, and is fast establishing itself as one of the most important international events held in Malta.
KBL Powerboat Management Ltd commercial director Martin McDonald said: “The world of Powerboat P1 is about speed and delivering maximum performance at the right time. In many ways, go mobile does exactly this via its wide range of cutting-edge
services. It is for this reason that we are pleased to have concluded this commercial agreement and we hope to be a valid tool in promoting first hand, go mobile and its excellent service offering.”
Go mobile Head of Sales and Marketing Peter Gauci added: “Go mobile is honoured to be associated with this prestigious international sporting event. Telecommunications and powerboat racing: both are forward-looking and dynamic in nature and these are two important qualities that form the basis of go mobile’s business philosophy.”
The SMS competition will see one lucky go mobile subscriber receiving two exclusive VIP passes for the Grand Prix on Sunday, 14 May that will allow the winner and a friend to get close to the action and experience the grand prix circus first hand. They will have reserved seats on a VIP boat positioned at the Start/Finish line from where to watch the race itself. They will also be taken on a guided tour of the dry pits, wet pits and craning areas and be treated to a complementary lunch.
To stand a chance of winning these VIP tickets, go mobile customers simply need to send a blank SMS to 5070-5450 (the cost is 50c) before 10 May. The winning number will be drawn on 11 May in the presence of a DPL official, at go mobile’s head office at Marsa.
For further information about the competition call 146 from a go mobile line (the call is free) or 7922-2146 from other networks or visit www.go.com.mt
