A youngster was yesterday conditionally discharged after pleading guilty to stealing a car.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to stealing an Austin Mini on 27 January to the detriment of Maria Theuma from Marsa.

He also admitted causing between Lm50 and Lm500 in damage to the vehicle as well as fixing two illegitimate number plates to the vehicle.

The court, presided over by magistrate Giovanni Grixti, conditionally discharged the youth for two years.

Police inspector Geoffrey Azzopardi prosecuted.
