The Croatian Chamber of Crafts and Trades, HOK, and the Maltese Chamber of Small and Medium Sized Enterprise, GRTU, signed a memorandum of understanding yesterday, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr Lawrence Gonzi.

The memorandum was signed by Paul Abela, President of GRTU and Stjepan Safran, president of HOK.

The MOU was signed at the end of a short visit by the Croatian delegation to Malta.

The Croatian Chamber of Crafts and Trades and The Maltese Chamber of SME’s formally met each other in January 2006 in London at a conference of UEAPME, The European Association of Craft and small and medium sized enterprise, of which both chambers are active members.

The agreement will see the two chambers:

Assisting each other to develop in the best possible mode within the Union and to the benefit of their individual members;

Identifying the best opportunities that exist; and specifically, the GRTU will assist HOK in its negotiation process with the EU.
