Veterinary aid given by the United Kingdom to Malta was discussed yesterday when British High Commissioner Nicholas Archer paid a visit to the parliamentary secretary in the Rural Affairs and Environment Ministry Frans Agius.
Dr Agius explained that a “twinning full” agreement had been signed a few weeks ago. The project is worth e1 million and is wholly financed by the European Union.
Veterinary experts from the UK will be working with their Maltese counterparts to run training courses and strengthen standard procedures that cover the industry in Malta.
The project will address five primary activities: treatment of animals, veterinary medicines, milk production, animal fodder and poultry slaughterhouses.
