Video-on-line, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Melita Cable, has launched Onvol UltraLite, the latest product in its family of residential internet products that includes also Onvol Lite and Onvol Sonic.

Onvol UltraLite is an internet product aimed at subscribers who are currently still using a dial-up system to connect to the internet. Onvol UltraLite is aimed for customers who need email facilities and limited internet browsing. The product is also tailor-made for the first-time internet user who wants a low-priced entry into the market.

The features of the UltraLite product have been designed to stimulate demand for an Always-On internet service. For only Lm5.95 per month users are given an email account, a download speed of 128K and 1GB of download limit.

“Our UltraLite product consolidates our product range in the internet market,” said Franco de Gabriele – head sales and marketing for Melita Cable.

“We anticipate heavy demand for this product since it is affordable and better value for money when compared with other products on the market. We have now broken the barrier of an Lm6 per month Always-On, internet connection at download speeds and download limits ideally designed for the low-end internet user.”

Through Onvol UltraLite, users need not occupy their existing phone line to connect to the internet, nor do they need to browse at speeds of only 64K. More importantly, they pay a fixed sum of money per month with no time restrictions. These are basically the benefits of Onvol UltraLite over dial-up products available on the market.
