The Police is treating the recent arson cases with maximum attention, abundance of energy and integrity, said a CMRU statement yesterday.
The investigators assigned with this investigation are highly professional seasoned officers who were instrumental in solving many serious criminal cases in their career including a number of past cases.
Since the last arson, the number of investigators have been stepped up from two to four Inspectors, together with their respective investigating teams (three other police officers each) to investigate solely these arson cases.
In these investigations the Police are exploring all possible avenues which could lead to the identity of the arsonists, but regrettably so far with negative outcome.
During these investigations several people were arrested and others interviewed at length, these include also members of Viva Malta. With the aim to successfully conclude these investigations at earliest possible and to restore peace of mind in one and all, the investigating teams are conducting their investigations in a relentless manner.
They are doing all that could be humanly possible done and will not stop from doing so unless these cases are solved and the malefactor/s brought before the Courts.
It is worth mentioning that this week the Police managed to successfully investigate the arson of a garage door which took place at B’Kara this same week. However from further enquiries made it did not result that this case was in any way linked to the other arson cases.
The Police would like to urge the public to come forward with any information which may assist in these investigations and if so desired, same will be treated with complete confidentiality.
