BOV Hosts seminars on environmental protection

Bank of Valletta is organising a series of seminars with the aim of promoting more knowledge related to environmental law – as part of the Bank’s commitment towards the safeguarding of local environment.

These seminars will be addressed by Dr Simone Borg, legal consultant on environmental law and will be conducted in Maltese. The two-hour talks start at 5.30pm and will be held at the BOV Conference Centre at BOV Centre, Cannon Road, Santa Venera.

The first in this series of seminars will be hosted tomorrow on the subject “liquid waste, water recycling and drainage disposal”. Other seminars will tackle topics such as potentially hazardous waste as well as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), refrigerants and ozone depleting gases, packaging and packaging waste.

Commenting about this initiative, Michael Galea, head of public relations, communications and corporate branding at Bank of Valletta said, “BOV is fully conscious of its role within society at large and this spurs the Bank to help in the field of environment protection.

The Bank believes that its role goes beyond financing environmental projects but also through the creating of opportunities to promote the importance and benefits of caring for and protecting our environment within the community.”

Mr Galea reiterated that Bank of Valletta is hosting this series of seminars for Maltese industries not only to uphold its commitment towards the environment but also to assist the industry adapt its operations through the adoption of more environment friendly initiatives.
