Changes At the Embassy complex

Malta Independent Friday, 9 June 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The Embassy Complex has now been open for five years. Following its success as a leading shopping and entertainment complex in the heart of Valletta, and the various developments within the complex itself, new areas have recently been designated as retail space in order to meet the growing need for larger shops within the complex and Valletta generally. With these changes the Embassy is simultaneously consolidating the entertainment areas to the lowermost and uppermost levels.

The Embassy will now be comprised of two cinema levels at the top, encompassing six state-or-the-art fully air-conditioned cinema theatres showing the latest blockbusters in extremely comfortable stadium seating. Below this are the five retail floors, with two more levels of entertainment beneath, including the first fully-computerised bingo hall on the island.

Embassy announced two new openings in the retail areas during the month of May, including a Bossini outlet spread over two levels in the complex (level -1 for the men’s collection and level -2 for the women and children’s lines) and the introduction of Calliope Kids on Level -1. The whole of Level -2 is now being converted into a fifth floor of retail space, of which 314 square metres are available for lease. This large area can be sub-divided into various sizes of shops, depending on the demand of future tenants. Over the past year, Embassy has also welcomed a new Monsoon Children’s store located by the entrance on Level 0, Tenda Accessories also on Level 0, a Maltapost outlet on Level 2, Heavenscent Perfumery on Level 1, adjacent to Blues Café, the extension of Underground Shoes into Accessories. It has also seen the refurbishment of other outlets including Vodafone, Benetton and Nuvole. New entertainment concepts are being developed in the complex over the coming weeks, with new shops in the pipeline for the autumn collections.

New Bossini outlet

The new outlet, spread over two levels within the complex (level -1 and level -2) is hosting the world-famous Bossini Brand, which caters for all members of the family, with level -1 dedicated to the fabulous new men’s collection and level -2 dedicated to children’s and ladies’ wear. Bossini guarantees quality, reasonable prices and fashionable styles. The Big Bon Group would like to thank its esteemed clientele for their continuous support in assuring the success of yet another outlet.

Calliope Kids

Calliope Kids is a new fashion brand for boys and girls up to the age of 12 that will be launched very shortly on the Maltese market. It follows in the footsteps of its sister brands Terranova and Calliope, that have taken the fashion industry by storm by providing the latest fashion trends at realistic and affordable prices. The success of these brands is based on the philosophy that fashion does not have to be expensive to look good. Calliope Kids has been created by female fashion industry professionals, themselves mothers, who work in the Teddy organisation, the holding company that comprises Terranova, Calliope and Calliope Kids. The research brief was to create children’s fashion wear that is trendy while being comfortable to wear, at good value and, most importantly, at down to earth prices.

Over a two-month period, the brand is opening 20 Calliope Kids outlets in several European countries, including Malta. The Calliope Kids shops opening in the coming days in Malta are at the Embassy Complex Valletta, and Santa Venera, near the well-known Terranova shop. The brand is entirely dedicated to children and offers a wide range of clothing, accessories, sportswear, and casual wear, all at extremely good prices. Calliope Kids fashion wear is the latest product line by Teddy, created, designed and made in Italy just for kids.
