This year, for the first time, regular diners have the opportunity of participating in The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants annual survey online at www.restaurants malta.com

The online facility allows participants to return to the survey at any time before the deadline, to continue voting for their favourite restaurants, or even to amend their rating.

Alternatively, they can still complete the survey that is being distributed to The Definitive(ly) Good Guide database and to anyone who would like to register for participation in the survey. To register, participants can write to info@restaurants

The Definitive(ly) Good Guide Restaurant Survey is distributed annually and asks those eating out to rate all the restaurants they have frequented in the last 12 months on a scale of 1-10 for food, service and ambience. It invites people to answer additional questions, including what they think is the best Maltese restaurant; the best for business entertainment; the best value for money restaurant; the most romantic restaurant; the most child-friendly restaurant; the best restaurant restroom and the best restaurant wine lists. In addition, this year there is a new award for the restaurant with the best vegetarian option, sponsored by Good Earth. The survey also invites comments on the restaurants.

As in previous years, participants can win some fantastic prizes including two nights accommodation in a twin deluxe room at the Hilton, a Fortina Spa Resort Platinum card membership for a year and a Marsovin hamper of a selection of locally grown Premium limited edition wines.

The input and comments in the survey determine which restaurants are included in the guide. Of the 1,000 restaurants on the islands, the top 150 restaurants will be included in the guide and the top rated 40 restaurants are presented with awards by the Tourism Minister at the annual gala dinner in December.
