Foreign Minister Michael Frendo said that he has asked the Police Commissioner to investigate allegations made by the Labour Party media regarding certain fake CDs that were allegedly distributed during a political activity.

The minister said that he was made aware of the allegations when he was in France attending a conference, and as soon as he returned to Malta, he immediately requested the Police Commissioner to investigate the incident.

He said that the person who works in the minister’s secretariat, and who was supposedly involved in the incident, was asked not to report for work. Dr Frendo reaffirmed his strong condemnation of any form of piracy and called for everyone to await the result of the police inquiry.
