A national seminar on the challenges faced by the unemployed in today’s changing and demanding labour market has been organised by the Employment and Training Corporation (ETC).

The seminar, Lejn id-Dinja tax-Xoghol, was aimed at stimulating the motivation of jobseekers by providing them with thinking skills and the ability to evaluate the importance of being in employment. During the seminar, the participants were informed about the various employment and training schemes that are offered by the corporation.

Psychotherapist David Parnis explained why being in employment helps people psychologically, while Ray Cassar, from Coop, spoke about the possibility of a person setting up a cooperative.

Workshops were conducted in which job-seekers had to evaluate the possible best ways in which a person can improve his or her chances of employability while unemployed.
