Bank of Valletta has presented a donation to Dar tal-Providenza in support of this institution’s projects.

The donation was presented by manager of the bank’s branch in Siggiewi, Emmanuel Tagliaferro, to director of Dar tal-Providenza, Mgr Lawrence Gatt, who was accompanied by the centre’s administrator, Anton Vella.

Emmanuel Tagliaferro said that BOV’s involvement in the community went beyond the provision of quality financial services.

“Today we operate a structured community programme which has a strong social pillar through which we actively support established national and philanthropic organisations in the pursuance of identified projects directed at improving the quality of life of people in need,” said Mr Tagliaferro.

Mr Tagliaferro added that BOV’s support showed that the bank appreciated the important social role that Dar tal-Providenza played within our society.

Mgr Lawrence Gatt thanked Bank of Valletta for its support.

“Today, Dar tal-Providenza is established as the leading provider of residential care for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. Our running costs are in the region of Lm4,500 per day and we depend on the support of benefactors to sustain our services,” said Mgr Gatt.
