Family Told father had been run over the next day

Malta Independent Sunday, 25 June 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

While the elderly father of Labour MP Joseph Cuschieri and former MLP president Manuel was hit while crossing over a zebra crossing at 7.45pm last April, it was only around mid-morning the next day that the family was informed, sources told this paper.

It was reported last week that Mr Cuschieri senior was run over by an ADT driving test examiner who is being alleged to have been driving with three times the permissible amount of alcohol in his blood stream.

Following that accident, ADT just transferred Nikolai Magri, the sun of ADT’s enforcement officer Alfred Magri, to another department within ADT. Nikolai Magri is one of the five ADT examiners who have been suspended over allegations of bribery in the driving tests.
