Brilliant tenor voice – David Fawcett is yet another jewel in the crown of a celebrity line-up of singers taking part in 15 July concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre entitled LesMisSaigonGuerre, in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza.
The National Orchestra together with the St Monica Choir and the Helping Hands Choir under the direction of Joseph Grech will be accompanied by a superb cast including Ludwig Galea, Julie Zahra, Lawrence Gray, Roger Tirazona, Pamela Bezzina, Edward Mercieca, MaryRose Mallia, Leontine and Mario Portelli, in a spectacular rendering of Schönberg and Boublil’s masterpieces – Les Miserables, Miss Saigon and Martin Guerre.

David spent two years in the West End production of Les Miserables where he played the leading role of Jean Valjean on many occasions, as well as Brujon and the Bishop of Digne. He previously spent 13 months in the first Manchester production. David Fawcett also appeared in the 10th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall, and the Euro 96 closing ceremony at Wembley Stadium. With Andy Reiss, he created the UK’s leading musical theatre concert, Beyond the Barricade, which is still playing to sell-out audiences during its eighth year of touring. David’s theatre roles have included Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell, the Emcee in Cabaret and Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls.
As a director, his credits include the highly acclaimed production of Annie in Guildford and Portsmouth starring Faith Brown in her first musical role. David has also directed Godspell, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Chicago. He also formed the theatre company Amusing Little Productions with Sally Anne Leigh, producing Once A Catholic and Up and Under. David and Andy are partners in SmartMove Productions which undertakes both theatre and corporate productions for which David writes and directs corporate video programmes and events.
