Two operators of a banana ride in Mellieha Bay were charged yesterday with causing serious injuries to a 15-year-old Swedish tourist on 2 July. Ruben Curmi, 36, of Mellieha, and Ronald Agius, 33, of Kirkop, were charged with causing serious injury to the tourist after she fell off the ride.
The men pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Antonio Mizzi. They were each granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm500. The court was told that the girl's spleen had to be removed as a result of her injuries.
Police inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted.
