Four people are being held by the police following a drug bust in the bus stop area of Zabbar yesterday afternoon.

Police first arrested two young men roaming around the area after heroin packets were found in their possession.

One of them resides in Senglea and is 23 years old. Police found only one packet of heroin in his possession.

The other person, however, a 27-year-old from Xghajra, was found to be in possession of 27 packets of heroin ready to be sold, plus other traces of heroin.

In another raid, this time in Msida, the police arrested a 59-year-old Canadian resident in Malta, who was found to be in possession of two cannabis plants and other drug-related objects.

Here too, the police arrested a 39-year-old Libyan resident of Naxxar who was observed swallowing a packet containing heroin.
