The fourth and last phase of works at Patri Guzé Delia primary school in Siggiewi began on Tuesday, the Education Ministry said this week.
Provision of a new storey and a new hall will be completed during this final phase, which will also involve work – including landscaping – on the grounds and recreational facilities and the refurbishment of the old part of the school.
More than 400 students attend Siggiewi primary school and once completed, the total cost of the project will amount to around Lm1 million.
Education Minister Louis Galea visited the school and saw the work being carried out in the new hall.
The investment in a new hall, which has been designed as a multi-purpose facility and includes seating for 700 people, will be around Lm250,000.
The hall will be used as an assembly hall, an auditorium and as a sports hall. Facilities include a basement store, a stage that can be dismantled, a lift for accessibility, changing rooms and sanitary facilities.
