An Air Malta Boeing 737 aircraft had to make an unexpected landing in Paris early yesterday morning after the aircraft developed a cabin pressurisation problem.
The aircraft, registration 9H-ADI, operating flight KM103 from Heathrow to Malta, developed the problem while it was flying over Paris.
The captain, in the interest and safety of his passengers and crew, landed the aircraft at Paris’ Orly airport.
The aircraft landed without any problem in Paris at 1am yesterday morning.
Upon landing, the 144 passengers on board the aircraft were assisted by Air Malta and Servisair staff who provided all the necessary assistance to them in order to minimise the inconvenience caused. The passengers were provided with hotel accommodation and returned to Malta yesterday on other Air Malta flights from Paris.
This morning Air Malta dispatched to Paris a team of engineers and a relief crew to rectify the fault and fly the aircraft back to Malta. The aircraft landed in Malta at 4.35pm.
In a statement yesterday, Air Malta said it always gives utmost importance to the safety and well-being of its clients and staff and reassured its customers that all possible was done to minimise any discomfort and inconvenience.
