A private contractor who was carrying out construction works in St Catherine Street, Tal-Mirakli area, Lija damaged an underground power cable last Wednesday just after 9am, Enemalta Corporation said yesterday.
The electricity service in parts of Attard and in parts of Lija was interrupted as a result of the damaged cable. Immediate measures were taken to supply these affected areas through an alternative supply. The electricity service was restored by 11.10am.
