A man has been jailed for 18 months, suspended for three years, after he admitted defrauding two men of a total of Lm6,000.
Shaun Risiott pleaded guilty to defrauding Godwin Manche of Lm3,500 and Kenneth Camilleri of a further Lm2,500. The court heard how the defendant had already paid back Mr Camilleri Lm500 of the sum of money he owed him.
Magistrate Abigail Lofaro jailed Risiott for 18 months, suspended for three years. She also ordered him to pay Mr Manche and Mr Camilleri the money he owed them within six months.
Police inspector Angelo Gafa prosecuted and Dr Reno Borg appeared for the defendant.
