One of television's most popular presenters has joined Radio Malta.

John Demanuele will host a daily lunchtime show on the national station, featuring a mix of Classic Hits and interviews with personalities in the news.

As well as radio, John will continue with his TVM commitments, fronting the 118 home show, produced by Brainbox.

He said: “Although I started my career in radio, I have since been communicating mainly with a TV audience. So I feel that this is a very exciting opportunity to meet a different audience. Hopefully, I will get the same warm feedback that I get from my TV programme.”

The new show, Sas-Saghtejn, is part of a major overhaul of Radio Malta.

The station's image has been refreshed, with the introduction of new jingles, extra news bulletins, and a Classic Hits music format featuring well-known songs from the likes of Abba, the Beatles, Queen, the Eagles and Motown legends.

Simon Lumsden, the head of programmes at PBS and controller of Radio Malta, said: "I'm delighted to have John back on radio after all these years.

“He has a warm personality and brings a wealth of experience to the radio station and to our listeners.”

Radio Malta broadcasts 24 hours a day on 93.7 FM Stereo and on 999AM.
