Notte Bianca – Lejl Imdawwal: Medieval Banquet and re-enactment in Valletta

A medieval banquet and re-enactment will take place during Notte Bianca – Lejl Imdawwal in Valletta on Saturday 14 October. Notte Bianca – Lejl Imdawwal is organised and presented by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, under the auspices of the Ministry for Tourism and Culture, in collaboration with the National Lotteries for Good Causes Fund, Ministry of Finance.

For those who like to attend a special activity and participate in the merry-making, the new management of Popular Bar ‘n’ Café of Valletta is organising a medieval banquet at the Old Market Square in Merchants’ Street, just a stone’s throw away from the Palace Armoury. The banquet starts at 8pm.

The medieval night will include regal fine dining set in the times of 1150, complemented by a host of characters led by a jester. Among the attractions there will be the knights in full armour, who will challenge one another to win the love of the fair princess Eleanor and take her away from her headstrong father, King Daniel-Jack. A historic medieval re-enactment will take place in different parts of Valletta, between 8.15pm and 00.15am as part of the Malta Historic Cities Festival, organised by the Ministry for Tourism and Culture in association with the Malta Tourism Authority. The re-enactments include swords-fights, falconry demonstrations, guided tours, a musical concert and theatrical performances.

During Notte Bianca – Lejl Imdawwal, the historical re-enactment will be following this route: Castille Square, Merchants Street, Melita Street, Zachary Street, St John’s Street, St John’s Square, Bakery Street, St Lucia Street, Republic Street, Great Siege Square, St Lucia Street, Merchants Street, St Christopher Street, Republic Street, St Domenic Street, Merchants Street, Mediterranean Conference Centre, St Lucia Street, Treasury Street, Media Point and Republic Square.
