HSBC Bank Malta plc has recently joined Global Links which is HSBC Group’s new Cross Border Referral System. Through HSBC’s Commercial Relationship managers, this new initiative will give Maltese entrepreneurs access to a system that will facilitate any cross-border trading. It will also provide a direct contact with foreign businesses considering investing in or trading with Malta.

“Global Links is a unique service that only a bank with the reach of HSBC can offer. Through this system, we can provide Maltese businesses looking to expand overseas with contacts and support, and we can do exactly the same for foreign businesses looking to trade with or invest in Malta,” said HSBC Bank Malta plc chief executive officer Shaun Wallis.

Since its launch, a substantial number of new business referrals have been made across the borders of HSBC Group member companies operating in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

“The great advantage of Global Links is that it allows Relationship Managers at HSBC Malta to make contact with their counterparts across the Group. In this way, we aim to provide successful, smooth and quick cross-business introductions. The information the system provides also allows us to see global trends in business and investment. In addition, HSBC can constantly monitor the status of any referral. HSBC can now provide a service to any business wishing to deal with some 76 countries around the world where HSBC is present,” said HSBC’s head of commercial banking, James Dunbar Cousin.

Further information is available from the website www.hsbc.com.mt, any HSBC branch in Malta and Gozo and from Relationship Managers at the bank’s commercial centres in Valletta, Birkirkara, Paola, Valletta, Sliema, Mosta and Gozo.
