Charles “City” Gatt with the Open House Band and Tribali will bring the activities of Notte Bianca – Lejl Imdawwal to a close between Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October. Notte Bianca – Lejl Imdawwal is being organised and presented by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, under the auspices of the Ministry for Tourism and Culture, in collaboration with the National Lotteries for Good Causes Fund, Ministry of Finance. Admission is free.
Between 1.30 and 3.30am, the popular Maltese band, Tribali, will present a show of ethnic music. Tribali is made up of Grigal who plays the didgeridoo, Jo on sitar and guitar, Antoine and Peter Paul on percussion, and Adriano on bass. The performance is sure to captirate the listeners as it offers a different musical experience that incorporates the beauty and pathos of music from the orient.
This will be followed by a concert of jazz music by City Gatt and “Open House” Band between 4 and 5.30am (Sunday 15). Charles “City” Gatt, one of the most respected jazz musicians in Malta, has performed with several internationally renowned jazz bands and orchestras. The band also includes pianist Joe Debono, Walter Vella who plays the flute and bass player Mario Abela.
Notte Bianca – Lejl Imdawwal is also supported by the Valletta Local Council, the Malta Tourism Authority, the Westin Dragonara Resort Malta and the official radio Capital 88.7.
