Notte Bianca: Facilities arrangements

The Malta Council for Culture and the Arts is ensuring to have the necessary facilities for visitors wishing to attend to the activities in Valletta during Notte Bianca – Lejl Imdawwal tomorrow night.

A shuttle service within and around Valletta will be available for the elderly and disabled with the kind support of Razzett tal-Hbiberija. The drop-off and pick-up points are the Bus Terminus; Old Bakery Street (St John’s Cavalier); Old Bakery Street (St Augustine’s Church); Old Bakery Street (Teatru Manoel); Republic Street (Near Malta Union Of Teachers); Merchants Street (near Mediterranean Conference Centre); St Ursula Street; Lower Barrakka Gardens; Victoria Gate; Upper Barrakka Gardens; and Bus Terminus.

The Malta Transport Authority has agreed to operate an extra bus service between midnight and 5am, at a bus fare of 50 cents per person. The service will operate every hour from Valletta on 10 routes, namely Senglea, Vittoriosa, Kalkara; St Lucia, Luqa (church), Kirkop, Safi, Zurrieq, Qrendi, Mqabba; Paola, Fgura, Zabbar, M’ Scala; Gudja, Zejtun, M’ Xlokk, Birzebbuga; Qormi, Zebbug, Siggiewi; Mosta, Bugibba, Golden Bay, Mgarr; Naxxar, Mosta (St Margherita), St Paul’s Bay, Mellieha, Cirkewwa; Birkirkara, Balzan (valley), Attard (Misrah Kola), Rabat, Dingli, Mtarfa; Savoy, Ta’ Giorni, San Gwann, B’ Kara (St Helena); and Ferry, Spinola, Paceville, Bahar ic-Caghaq. The MCP car park in Floriana will be fully-functional throughout the night and for those who wish to park their vehicles between 5pm and 6am the block charge is only 40 cents.

The Gozo Channel Ferry boat will be operating return trips on the usual schedule from Cirkewwa to Mgarr throughout the night. There will also be sea transport services from Vittoriosa (near Jum il-Helsien monument) to Valletta (near Customs House) and return.

Public conveniences and mobile toilets will be available and fully-functional at various sites. The First Aid Point and the Emergency Point are situated in Pope Pius Street (above City Gate) and in case of emergency, the public may call 112. An Information Point and a large map of Valletta will be available at Freedom Square.
