Moira Delia is the girl who has it all – looks, intelligence and a lively personality. Among previous programmes which she has presented or in which she has participated, include Gingrin, Bravi, Wheelspin and Room 02 among others. But Showtime on TVM was her first prime time programme and gained popularity during the first six months when it was placed “top viewed programme” among other well established programmes in a survey. together with other well established programmes. Showtime gave Moira the opportunity to show her vivacious character. This Saturday night entertainment show is elegant and each week Moira appears in a different dress designed by Alamango Textiles of Gzira especially for Showtime.

Moira has a nine-year-old son Gianni. She has a strong opinion especially about stray animals and values in which she believes in. She likes working with flexible and optimistic people with an “every day is another day so let’s move on” kind of attitude. She loves good English comedies and going to theatre in London. At the moment her favourite comedy is Little Britain. Her favourite food is Japanese, Thai and Indian. She also loves properly prepared Maltese food such as lampuki pie or home made timpana.

She believes in training regularly and keeping fit so that she can eat what she likes. In fact she trains between three and four times a week and doesn’t believe in extreme diets and consideres them unhealthy. She feeds two colonies of cats everyday paying for the food from her own pocket. It gives her pleasure to think that she in this way is saving stray cats from starving

* * *

How old are you? Star sign and date of birth?

34 years old. I’m a Libra.

What would you like to be doing in 10 years’ time?

Living the way I’m living with the same eagerness and enjoying every minute.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Enjoying what is free in life, a good laugh with best friends and family.

What is your favourite occupation?

Definitely presenting, it gives me the right boost, and I think I manage to pass on the same vibe to the viewer. It comes naturally to me.

What is your greatest fear?

Apart from sickness, having to meet or communicate with adversaries. I steer clear from them not because I’m afraid, but because some people can be evil and dangerous and can cause trouble. These people have no life so I choose to avoid them but show them I don’t like being in their presence too.

What is it that you most value in your friends?

Trust, honesty, giving me their word and not turning back . . . those are the real ones . . . and I know who they are and I keep them close.

How would you like to die?

Preferably when I’m unconscious!

What is your greatest extravagance?

Anything can happen after spending a couple of days in the seven-star hotel in Dubai.

What is your greatest regret?

Missing out on a big party in Vienna (the University of Vienna). I actually got there not wearing the right ball gown and felt out of place so returned to my hotel . . . What was I thinking!?! The worst thing was that the party finished at 6am. My kind of party and I missed it. It will never happen again.

What is your most treasured possession?

Obviously first and foremost my son Gianni, my man, my family and my big family of animals.

Which talent would you most like to have apart from the ones you already have?

I would have loved to take some singing lessons, just to know if it’s just a wish or if I do have a voice. But whatever I will always stick to presenting and dancing.

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

Loneliness, lost in an unknown country without my passport or cash and surrounded by strangers!

Where would you like to live?

Scotland or Ireland. I love the cold weather,

its greenery and the friendly and respectful

people.

What is your most marked characteristic?

My sense of humour, my spontaneity, my free spirit.

Who are your heroes/heroines in real life?

Stella McCartney is the person I admire so much. She is

Paul McCartney’s successful daughter. A top fashion designer who chooses not to use fur or leather so no harm is done to

animals.

What is it that you most dislike?

Selfishness and lack of education. People who are cruel to animals, people playing loud music in residential areas, people who shout instead of talk; especially to the person right next to them, noisy cars and most of all drivers that hoot in every side street!

What is your motto?

Here are a few I always choose to remember:

• “You can imagine your future, you can remember your past, but you can live your present to the full.”

• “When we wish for something sometimes it is because we have failed to see that in fact we have everything. When we take life as it is only glory and inspiration await us.”

• “There are many things in life that take no effort. Living is one of them.”

  • don't miss
