The third Bay Music Awards night, held at the Eden Arena on 12 December, drew huge crowds of enthusiastic fans.

This has become the highlight of musical events for the island. A listing among the nominees for the prestigious prizes is the ambition of all people belonging to the local music scene. The proud winners this year were:

• Best Newcomer – Chasing Pandora

• Best Dance Tune – Me to You – J. Joy

• Best Solo Artist – Ira Losco

• Best Band – Bitterside

• Best Song – Driving One of Your Cars – Ira Losco

For the first time, this year the Bay Music awards was screened on TVM including an exclusive preview show on a special edition of Bondi Plus.

This gave the whole of Malta the opportunity of joining in the fun.

In fact, a new award, The Viewers’ Choice Award, was launched, voting for which took place during the show and will close on Tuesday 19 December. The winner will be announced on Wednesday 20 December, on 89.7 Bay.
