Bank of Valletta has made a donation of a collection of children’s books to the local library in Marsascala. The books were presented by Patricia Cutajar, Manager of BOV’s branch at Marsascala to mayor Mario Calleja during a visit to the local library.
Speaking during the presentation, Pat Cutajar said the donation of books to the Marsascala local library underlined BOV’s active involvement within the community as well as the Bank’s efforts to promote educational development. “We are a bank that keeps close to the communities in which we operate wherein we seek to build customer relationships based on supportiveness and mutuality,” said Ms Cutajar. She explained that BOV has been providing a full range of banking services by operating a branch in Marsascala for the past 12 years.
“Through our Community Programme, we also seek to support and sustain valid projects in a number of areas. Our donation of books to the Marsascala Local Library is an initiative directed at supporting efforts to continue promoting educational development within the Marsascala community of which we are an active member,” added Pat Cutajar.
Mr Calleja thanked Bank of Valletta for the donation of books. He said the books that were donated by BOV were much needed and helped to enhance the collection of children’s books available at the public library. He continued in stressing the importance of educational development of our future generation. He expressed his appreciation for the strong collaboration that exists between BOV and the Local Council.
Also present were the librarian Mrs A Sant, Mireille Penza, Relationship Officer at BOV’s Marsascala Branch, Joe Caruana, Local Council Secretary, Mr Wilfred Cassar Headmaster and Mrs Chetcuti one of the Assistant Heads at St Anne Primary School. Mrs Chetcuti expressed her gratitude to the Bank’s continuous support, where during the last scholastic year, the Bank also helped financially in the setting up of a Maltese Corner at St Anne’s Primary School. The presentation was also attended by the two secretaries from the Local Council and members of the public.
