An autopsy carried out on the body of a 71-year-old woman found face down in the sea off Xatt is-Sajjieda in Marsaxlokk on Saturday revealed that she died of asphyxia.
In a statement, the police confirmed that the woman had died of asphyxia, probably due to drowning. The police had already ruled out foul play when the body was discovered.
