Three youths from San Gwann were charged yesterday with possessing a stolen car stereo in March 2005.

Matthew Portelli, 18, Etienne Borg, 26, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named by court order, as he is still a minor, denied purchasing or possessing the stolen stereo.

Appearing before magistrate Saviour Demicoli, the 17-year-old was also charged with relapsing.

Police inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted. Dr Victor Scerri appeared for Mr Portelli, Dr Martin Busuttil appeared for Mr Borg and Dr Franco Debono appeared for the 17-year-old.
