Court: Man Conditionally discharged for injuring woman

Malta Independent Thursday, 18 January 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

A 66-year-old man from Hamrun was conditionally discharged for three years yesterday after he pleaded guilty to seriously injuring a woman.

Alfred Zammit was charged with seriously injuring Mary Camilleri in Hamrun on 4 August 2004 at around noon.

Handing down his judgement, magistrate Saviour Demicoli took into consideration the accused’s clean record, as well as the fact that Ms Camilleri had forgiven him without prejudice to any rights over the civil nature pertaining to the case.

Police inspectors Roland Cassar and Nezren Grixti prosecuted.

Dr Anthony Cutajar appeared for the accused.
