Court: Egyptian Accused of stealing jewellery

An Egyptian national was yesterday charged with stealing a quantity of jewellery and cash from a house in Mtarfa in April 2005.

Ibrahim Hafes El Degwy, 41, who lives in Gozo, pleaded not guilty to stealing the items from a house in Mtarfa on 27 April 2005.

Before Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani, the man also pleaded not guilty to possessing stolen property and damaging the house.

Police Inspector Raymond Cassar prosecuted. Dr Franco Debono appeared for the accused.
