HSBC Bank Malta plc announced an increase in its credit interest rate on Maltese lira savings accounts, to 1.25 per cent per annum with effect from 1 February 2007. This review follows the decision made by the Central Bank of Malta to increase the Central Intervention Rate by 25 basis points.
