25th Anniversary at customs department

Malta Independent Friday, 2 February 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 21 years ago

On Friday 26 January a group of 19 Customs Class officers celebrated their 25th anniversary at the customs department. As a noble gesture, some of them started the day by donating blood at the St. Luke’s hospital blood-bank.

At 7pm they gathered at the airport chapel for a thanksgiving Mass which was celebrated by Fr Tonio Mifsud, who talked about the importance and responsibility of their work.

Prayers were held in remembrance of former colleges who left the department and others who have passed away.

After Mass they went to the Waterfront Hotel in Gzira for a hearty meal, and later were presented with mementoes of the occasion by the director of customs Mr Iro Galea.
