X-FM 100.2, one of Malta’s leading radio stations, has signed up to be the official radio station of AEGEE-Valletta, for one year. AEGEE-Valletta is one of the leading active, non-profit, non-political and non-faculty based, student organisation at University of Malta Campus.
“We are delighted to have X-FM100.2 on board as one of our partners for 2007,” commented, Johann Schembri, President of AEGEE-Valletta. This year is a busy one for AEGEE-Valletta, being their 10th anniversary, with several activities kicking off as from March, with a jam-packed AEGEE Week, between the 5th and 9th of March, promoting student opportunities to get active on campus and abroad, whilst acquiring new skills, knowledge and learning about new cultures.
Moreover, coming April, 600 European students will be gathering in Malta, to participate in the bi-annual AEGEE Network Meeting. This is a first for Malta, hosting such a big congress by a student organisation.
Xfm 100.2 Station Manager, Carlo Borg Bonaci was full of praise for such hardworking students, who involve themselves in organisations, and enrich their lifestyles and CVs by being active and networking with business partners.
“Helping out such organisations is our duty, if not in our interest too,” commented Mr. Borg Bonaci. “AEGEE-Valletta has proved to us that its 10th year is a special year for its members, and its awards won since 1997, both locally and abroad, are noteworthy.”
AEGEE-Valletta has been awarded Second Best Antenna in the AEGEE-Europe Antenna Award, and AEGEE XX Award for Best Event, both in 2005. Considering that AEGEE-Europe has over 260 Antennae in over 60 academic cities, AEGEE-Valletta managed to notch two big European achievements, in such a short span. On the local front, KSU rewarded AEGEE-Valletta, during 2006 Freshers’ Week, as the Second Best Active Student Organisation on campus.
