A truck with no refrigeration facility that was transporting 150kg of fish from Malta was blocked by Italian authorities at Catania harbour last week.
Subsequent investigations are alleged to have proved that the fish was destined for a “known” distributor who operates in the Catania province and was destined for local restaurants.
The fish have been destroyed.
