Malta Independent Monday, 5 February 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Duncan Zammit has recently been appointed Procurer on the new Palace Hotel project, in Sliema.

This new position places Mr Zammit in the demanding role of the purchasing needs of all of The Palace’s requirements at pre-opening stage.

This appointment forms part of the on-going restructuring process within the complex that includes Palazzo Capua as well as The Victoria, and is aimed at streamlining the current purchasing procedure to this system, to gain consistency and a sense of continuity.

Mr Zammit’s many responsibilities now include the acquisition, tendering, contract negotiating, as well as the creation and management of a product-specific database including all incoming items. Mr Zammit’s role extends as well to the creation and development of concepts chosen, most especially in the food and beverage areas, hence complemented with the adequate types of products chosen to the specific outlet in question.

This new post holds an important place in the organisation’s structure and is an essential component for the smooth and efficient administration of the new Palace project, already now at its infant stage.
