A delegation from the Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, led by chairman Jason Azzopardi, and made up of Evarist Bartolo, Leo Brincat MP, Mario de Marco and Jose' Herrera, is visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. The delegation left on Sunday and will be back on Thursday.

The delegation will focus the discussions on strengthening relations between the Maltese Parliament and the Ashura Council, trade cooperation, investment promotion, tourism, shiprepair, freeport facilities and other issues of bilateral interest.

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia the delegation will meet Shiekh Saleh Bin Humaid Chairman of the Ashura Council and the Chairmen of Committees on Foreign Affairs, the Economy and Energy. Further meetings will be held with: Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Governor of Riyadh, Prince Mohammad Bin Faisal Bin Turki Head of EU Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Attiya Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jubara Al-Suriseri Minister of Transport, Abdullah Al-Hamoudi Deputy Minister of Commerce, Fahad Al-Sultan Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce and the Chairman of the High Commission of Investment.

In Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates the delegation will have meetings at the respective Foreign Affairs Ministry and Chamber of Commerce. The delegation will also visit and tour SmartCity in Dubai.
